Traditional Chiropractic vs Upper Cervical Chiropractic Care

Before we get into our focus, it would be best to define traditional chiropractic care. Traditional Chiropractic care is what most people are familiar with. It involves the use of the chiropractor’s hands to manually adjust the patient. Often times this adjustment requires the chiropractor to place the patient in various postures creating tension in areas of their spine, until an audible pop is heard. Typically, traditional chiropractors try to:

- Increase range of motion

- Reduced muscular spasms

- Temporary Symptom Relief

In our opinion those are some EXCELLENT goals and most chiropractors are great at obtaining them, but we are unique.

At Summit Chiropractic & Wellness Center, our purpose is:

To identify and remove the presence of an ATLAS DISPLACEMENT COMPLEX

Most of the cases that we see in our office are for the correction of a significant Atlas (the top bone in your neck) misalignment. The presence of an Atlas misalignment is typically the underlying cause of most, if not all of the “symptoms” – or what Upper Cervical Chiropractors refer to as Secondary Conditions. Correction of the Atlas focuses on the underlying cause – the nerve interference.
